The ZTE Voyager 3D is the latest addition to ZTE’s innovative lineup. Building on the legacy of previous ZTE devices such as the Nubia Pad and the Axon 7 Max, the Voyager 3D showcases the company’s commitment to enhancing the user experience through immersive and cutting-edge features.

The ZTE Voyager 3D stands out in the crowded smartphone market with this affordable 3D smartphone (if you already have an iPhone, you can turn it into the Ultimate 3D device for less than $100). This device is equipped with 5G connectivity and a 6.58-inch IPS screen that supports glasses-free 3D viewing. Using a combination of optical layers and eye-tracking sensors, the Voyager 3D uses a lot of lightfield advancements available previously only on expensive devices.

The Voyager 3D’s display also boasts a high resolution of 1080 x 2408 pixels, ensuring that both 2d and 3D content are presented with stunning clarity and detail.

One of the standout features of the ZTE Voyager 3D are the AI capabilities, used, not only to convert from 2d to 3D, but also on the eye-tracking, on the photo gallery to delete objects from the photos, on a real-time voice translator, as well as on an entire array of AI toolsets . The device is equipped with a dual-lens rear 50mp AI camera system, but it can’t capture in 3D, which is strange, if you rely on taking 3D pictures and videos you should consider using an iPhone.

The Voyager 3D includes a button to open a 3D portal with services and games. This button can be assigned to open another program, just like the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

3D… Revolution?

But the 2d to 3D conversion capability is not limited to images and videos. This ZTE packs a new technology called Neovision 3D Anytime, which promises to convert the 2d content of any App into 3D, including games.

This opens up a world of possibilities for users. Does this mean you can watch the images of a conversation or Telegram Chat, or watch DRM content from Netflix itself? It seems too good to be true, this possibility could be a revolution. But as the device is only for Chinese market, we can’t check for ourselves.

The Voyager 3D is not ZTE’s first foray into the world of 3D technology. The company has a history of producing innovative 3D devices, with notable examples being the Nubia Pad and the Axon 7 Max.

Axon 7 Max: The Axon 7 Max was a significant milestone in ZTE’s 3D journey. This smartphone featured a 6-inch 3D display, also glasses-free, and was designed to offer an immersive multimedia experience. The Axon 7 Max emphasized high-quality 2d and 3D resolution, making it a well-rounded device for consuming 3D content. Its 3D wallpapers are memorable, even being limited to landscape orientation.

Nubia Pad: The Nubia Pad (aka ZTE’s version of Lume Pad 2), released as a versatile tablet, featured a large 3D display that catered to both entertainment and professional uses. Making it ideal for watching movies, playing games, and even working on 3D modeling projects. The Nubia Pad’s use the excellent Leia ecosystem, providing users with a powerful and rich platform for 3D content. A much improved successor has been announced, but still not released.

The Future of 3D Technology at ZTE

With the launch of the Voyager 3D, ZTE continues to push the envelope in mobile 3D technology. The company’s dedication to enhancing the user experience through innovative display and content creation features positions it as a leader in the 3D space. Packing 3D technologies from different approaches together (like Neovision and LeiaSR) is doing a great effort to push the 3D ecosystem further.
