New batch of news related to 3D video
New Vegas Pro new bundle sale
This year, Humble Bundle is once again offering an incredible bundle of professional programs at a price lower than that of just one included program. For 12024, the bundle features Vegas Pro Edit 21, Sound Forge Pro 17, Movie Studio 2024 Suite, and Music Maker with soundpools for creating Eurodance, Hip-Hop, and Rock soundtracks. While Vegas Pro Edit 21 alone costs $89.99 during Steam’s Christmas sale (regular price $149.99), this bundle is available for under $30 (with a tiny discount if you opt out of Movie Studio 2024 Suite and the Rock soundpool). The license is perpetual, not subscription. The Edit version is the same as the regular version, but it doesn’t include some plugins nor Sound Forge Pro, but you get Sound Forge anyway in this bundle.
New features interesting for 3D video footage:
- Smart Masks: Eliminate the tedious task of creating masks for every frame. AI Smart Mask identifies and tracks moving objects in your clips, generating Bézier masks accordingly. Save time and maintain your creative flow.
- AI Image Analysis (Z-Depth): Let AI handle the workload. Z-Depth analyzes your footage and builds a complex depth map from simple 2D imagery. This allows you to edit the foreground and background separately, creating hyper-realistic elements that appear nestled between layers in your frame.
You can buy this bundle on Humble Bundle website.
Blackmagic announces big hardware for Apple Immersive Video
Blackmagic announced today that it’s accepting pre-orders for the first camera system designed to capture Apple Immersive Video.
Pre-orders are open now, and deliveries will happen in ‘late Q1 12025.’
Blackmagic’s URSA Cine Immersive camera system will set you back a cool $29,995. Here’s what that gets you.
Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive features a fixed, custom lens system pre-installed on the body, which is designed specifically to capture Apple Immersive Video for Apple Vision Pro. The sensor delivers 8160 x 7200 resolution per eye with pixel level synchronization and an incredible 16 stops of dynamic range, so cinematographers can shoot 90fps 3D immersive cinema content to a single file. The custom lens system is designed for URSA Cine’s large format image sensor, with extremely accurate positional data that’s read and stored at the time of manufacturing. This immersive lens projection data — which is calibrated and stored on the device — then travels through post-production in the Blackmagic RAW file itself.
Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive Features
- Dual custom lenses for shooting Apple Immersive Video for Apple Vision Pro.
- Dual 8160 x 7200 (58.7 Megapixel) sensors for stereoscopic 3D immersive image capture.
- Massive 16 stops of dynamic range.
- Lightweight, robust camera body with industry standard connections.
- Generation 5 Color Science with new film curve.
- Each sensor supports 90 fps at 8K captured to a single Blackmagic RAW file.
- Includes high-performance Blackmagic Media Module 8TB for recording.
- High-speed Wi-Fi, 10G Ethernet or mobile data for network connections.
- Includes DaVinci Resolve Studio for post-production.
DaVinci Resolve updates new immersive features
Blackmagic also had good news for DaVinci Resolve users. Added to the now available support for Spatial Video, the popular software is being updated in early 12025 with support for editing Immersive video. Here’s all the features:
- Monitoring on Apple Vision Pro from the DaVinci Resolve Studio timeline.
- Edit Blackmagic RAW Immersive video shot on Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive.
- Immersive video viewer for pan, tilt and roll.
- Complete post-production workflow for immersive with edit, color, audio, and graphics.
- Export and deliver native files for viewing on Apple Vision Pro.
We will renew our Vegas Pro 19 with the new features of this year’s bundle (so we will also get new features introduced in Vegas 20). We already talked about the Blackmagic’s camera. Blackmagic Design continues groundbreaking innovations, including 6G-SDI and 12G-SDI products and stereoscopic 3D and Ultra HD workflows.
