New camera possibilities on all iPhone 16 line up

This year, all the iPhones come with the ability to take, not only Spatial Video, but also Spatial Photos natively.

Spatial Video recorded with the native camera App still doesn’t record it at 4K or 60fps HDR, but we can still use Spatialify to take advantage of more quality or smoother video, added to Spatial Photos, also on previous iPhone models.

There’s also new photo & video styles which now you can revert to the original or another one, thanks to the possibilities of HEIF images. Moreover, styles are now adjustable or appliable to only a desired color. Great for experimenting with manual 3D photos.

More interesting is the new Camera Control button, which allows in a single button to focus, zoom, or change other settings without using the touch screen.

These features, along with new Apple Intelligence (AI) features that get information from what you point the camera at, are available for both regular and Pro models.

Pro

Thanks to the new A18 Pro processor, now the Pro models can take RAW or HEIF maximum photos instantly, so you can take more photos faster on difficult moving subjects.

The ultra-wide lens is now 48MP, which allows higher resolution crops. Resulting in greater Spatial Photos & Videos. Making both eyes of the 3D image more harmonious.

But there’s more professional features that will allow 3D rigs setups with dual iPhones, faster and better capturing.

And also exclusively of the Pro models, there’s the ability to capture 120fps at 4K, even maintaining the Dolby Vision HDR rich tones. This opens new possibilities for dual iPhones recording for 3D productions, allowing slow motion or tighter syncing in fast action scenes between the recordings of each iPhone, all without sacrificing resolution. The High Frame-Rate (HFR) video can be played and exported at different speeds right from the iPhone.

And to make the iPhone more professional, now it can take Spatial Audio, and the ability to adjust audio mix after recording. You can change the recorded video to hear only the voices of people inside the frame, isolating the ambient sounds with AI and the information captures by the four studio-grade incorporated microphones. Or you can make a surround (cinematic mix) track by assigning voices in the center and ambient sound on the surround speakers. So you have readied the audio track without later edition in post-production. We don’t know whether this cinematic surround will be standard 5.1 (iPhones can play Dolby Atmos tracks) or it will also use the proprietary Spatial Audio, and whenever which format is, if it will be editable in standard video/audio editors.

All these new features and improvements make the iPhone an even better 3D device, even more if you attach to them our iPhone Spatial Display screen protector.

Ooh!
